Cindy Sheehan, mother of Casey, is rumored to be arrested in Crawford on Thursday for being a national security threat. I say we Kossaks need to get down there and support her.
Do any enterprising activists have buses or vans that we can use to drive to Crawford? We could have transport originating around the country and picking up protesters along the way. What do you think? If anything is worth getting arrested for these days, it's the defense of the very principles of democracy this administration so carelessly flaunts. This would undoubtedly spark major media coverage for the mothers of soldiers against the war, rendering the 'support the troops' card completely useless.
Who is interested in making this happen? I know I am.
Are there any Texas Kossaks willing to help in terms of on-site organization, maps, good meeting places, et cetera? Particularly useful would be a large podium and mic or bullhorn for the mothers to stand on to present a good focus for the media.
Update [2005-8-9 18:1:49 by periphrastik]: All protesters are recommended to meet up at Crawford Peace House before heading over to Camp Casey. You may want to meet separately somewhere else first and then go to Crawford Peace House if it suits you. Other Crawford meeting sites have been suggested in the comments, but I can't vouch for them.
